:: STYLE ::

After much anticipation, negotiation and waiting, my bike has finally arrived!!  Growing up in Europe, biking was just a matter of course.  Nearly everyone in every household had one, and bike lanes were an integral part of city planning and not just an after-thought.  Though Atlanta has a tenuous relationship with biking culture, there are tons of bikers, biker nights, and folks  out training for whatever competition that strikes them.

Biking for me has come down to three things:
1. Mixing up my daily commute to work
2. Getting some additional exercise
3. Providing myself with a new hobby as the months grow cooler!

So, after deciding that I definitely wanted a bicycle, I went researching, YouTubing, Googling and what have you to find the bike that most suited my personality.  To my astonishment, I found folding bikes!  Originally I was smitten by the Dahon Folding Bike.  I watched YouTube videos one after the other, growing more enthused. One day, though, I came across a review that mentioned a Mini Folding Bike!  I’ve been a proud Mini owner for years and have always loved the culture, product and style.  It seemed only fitting that the bike that I sought encompassed all of these components.  It seemed all my dreams had come together — Mini + Bike+ Compact= Happy Me.

Despite the hoopla with assembly and shipping, I wouldn’t change a thing about my Mini Folding Bike.  It rides great.  It’s light-weight.  It takes up little room in our home and has a cool old school bell that goes,  Bllllliiinnng! :-)
I’ve taken it to the park and spent a whole morning enjoying myself with nature and the breeze.  I ride to the cafe down the street when I want to work away from home.  I’ve even been able to ride it to transit to get to work — folding it down for transport and getting lots of strange looks. :-)  I’m careful to be mindful of the streets and practice the upmost safety…but I can’t deny, it’s the most fun ever.  Looking forward to taking it out to a remote country area and just peddling my heart out.

Bike Culture is Sweet!!
