They are a support group for trans people, their partners, allies and anyone going through the trans experience. They meet every 1st Mondays of each month and could be just the support you’ve been looking for. They even have a Facebook group to provide support between meetings. Look them up, check them out and send an email if you have any questions.

Harm Reduction is a way of approaching change that has been helpful for people with from all walks of life. Even if you are not ready to quit a certain behavior, there are ways to lessen the negative impact of your vices.

Here are some of the steps involved in Harm Reduction: Accept yourself. Judging yourself for struggling actually works against you. Know that you might mess up. This doesn’t have to be the end. Get back up, brush yourself off, and keep at it. Make small goals, so you can feel the success of meeting them, such as, “This week I will drink a glass of water for every cocktail I enjoy”, or “Today I will practice safer sex”. These baby steps turn into strides, and before you know it, you are right where you want to be.

- 35% Payment history - How long have you had history with paying on credit.

- 30% Amount owed as a percentage of available credit - How much credit you have available to you.

- 15% length of credit history - How long have you had your credit.

- 10% New credit or applications - Any new credit cards.

- 10% Mix of credit - Department card vs. Gas vs. Visa vs. Master vs. Car loan vs. mortgage…you get the point! :-)

One of my favorite articles of clothing accessory has always been pocket squares. In my opinion, it’s THE ONE accessory, which when worn with confidence brightens up any suite and which elevates almost any look. After some dialog it seemed to be the natural progression; thinking outside the box to make such a statement available to QBs with QBs in mind. We value that your wardrobe choices are made with great care and consideration and are truly humbled to be able to make these FOR YOU.

So after many revisions, styling and debate we’re finally ready to release our very own signature Queer B.O.I.S. pocket squares. Currently, we have over 25 different styles suited for multiple season and jacket types. These a just a few of the available options. Also we are working diligently to ready our online store to make viewing, purchasing and any other inquiries user-friendly. They are, however, available for purchase now. All you need to do is send us an email and we’ll make arrangements and/or send images to help you decide which one(s) will make it into your wardrobe.

In our opinion Denim shirts are underrated, especially considering the myriad of weights, washes, styles and colors. We believe that denim shirts allows us to push the boundaries of style by mixing a traditionally casual piece, with more formal or business pieces. For instance, pair a denim shirt with a sports jacket or a blazer, bow tie and chinos and you’ve taken your look one step further. If you’re really daring, pair dark jeans, denim shirt and blazer for the business casual motif. EIther way, denim is breaking barriers and giving us options in our wardrobe that we may not have known we had.

By mixing textures and styles, one can make the denim shirt a wardrobe staple. Try it out, take a picture and share with us!

Spring Cleaning

Spring is upon us and hopefully you’re enjoying a season of delicious sunshine, outdoor activities, and the warmth of friendly gatherings. Spring can also be a time to take inventory of our lives and belongings, shed unwanted baggage, and invite new energy into our spaces. The season inspires us to go out with the old and in with the new. Spring encourages us to rethink, remove, and re-envision. In the upcoming posts, we will provide tips for Spring cleaning. Happy Spring!

Re-envision Your Space- Thinking about painting that accent wall? Paint it. Want to reorganize the furniture in your living room? Do it. Want to purchase patio furniture? Purchase it (after you budget for it, of course). Our homes are extensions of our personal style. And there is no reason why our spaces shouldn’t be as dapper we are. Cheers!
