There is nothing better than investing in one’s self, particularly one’s body.  This picture has been all over Facebook and we couldn’t help but to post it as a reminder that exercise whenever possible is in our best interest.  WE know it’s difficult sometimes to figure out how to manage the time in our busy schedules but these few tips may help with that.

Although QBs is not historically known for it’s ‘sports’ angle and coverage we do know that many of our followers love and actively engage sports either as athletes, novices and fans.  With that in mind we’ve been having some discussions with a great friend who is, in our mind, an amazingly stylish person who is also completely obsessed with all things sports and fitness.  So stay tuned… :-)!

Placing a great deal of focus on my career has been good for me, however, it’s also been challenging to stay in tuned with the simple things like consistent exercise.  Consistency being the operative word here.  Reminding myself to maintain a balance between career, being active, blogging as well as other personal ambitions is not only a goal, it is my responsibility to myself.  
As I reflect on the days behind and the days ahead, I am thankful for what I have accomplished and continue to push myself more.  With a little more than 30 days before my birthday, I’m putting myself on a 30 day challenge. YIKES!! And the above illustration makes plain just how to get started. I’m sharing this with you because at the end of the day, we help one another achieve and strive for what we want.  Success is within Reach!

Muscle can burn approximately three times as many calories as fat. Build muscle through strength training and you will continue to accelerate the rate at which you burn calories.

QueerBOIS, strengthen your abs like any other muscles. This is something that could be a challenge to many people. So, include weight training with reps ranging from 12-15 each.  This will help you achieve your goals! 

And remember, if you’re building a great deal of muscle mass, don’t be hyper-consciences about it.  Just be mindful to maximize on core areas and stave off reps on heavy mass areas. Keep working out bois, summer is right around the corner. 

Working out over time can become boring. BOIS, try mixing up your workouts in order to get the maximum effect. Also, don’t stick to the same workout routine for too long, or your body will adjust to the stress level and then become less effective. In regard to strength training, change your routine every few weeks or months.

QueerBOIS, after workingout your body has a three hour window when it absorbs nutrients more efficiently. Consume the appropriate nutrients immediately following your workout for full benefits.
